At MedCOSMETIC™, these treatments often require only one or two visits. For example, we use a special "no burn, no downtime" laser to remove age spots. This treatment takes only fifteen minutes, and you will see results after only one visit. At MedCOSMETIC™, we have treatments that can be performed in fifteen to thirty minutes. Most treatments take 15 to 20 minutes. Of course, different problems require different treatments, and perhaps more than one laser. Generally, you will not need any sedation or local anesthetic prior to treatments. You can expect to resume all of your daily activities after the treatment, except direct sun exposure without sunblock.
During your initial consultation, our physician staff will take a brief medical history in order to make sure the treatments are safe for you. Your specific problems and desired results will then be discussed. Finally, an individualized treatment plan will be formed. You can expect your first treatment to begin immediately, if you desire. Generally, a digital picture will be taken before that first treatment. You can use that image to chart your progress, or even ask us to print it out to show a friend!
Treatments for age spots can be performed on any area. Most often, these pigment changes are corrected on the face, hands, neck, and arms. By simply removing these sun or age spots, you can expect to remove years from your appearance. You can expect significant changes in just one treatment. I see a number of ads for rejuvenation of the face and skin. What does rejuvenation generally refer to?
Rejuvenation literally means, "to make younger". Most of these ads claim to reduce or eliminate age spots, Rosacea, broken capillaries, and fine lines.
What makes your treatments different?
First, you must realize that each person is different. Each has a unique set of problems and skin type. In order to treat you in the most effective manner, these unique problems must be matched to the proper laser or other treatment. How long will the results of the treatments last?
You can expect long-term results. However we do recommend follow up treatments according to your specific needs, as your skin will continue to age. It is important that you avoid the factors that will damage your skin, such as the sun. We recommend sun block on a daily basis and the use of proper skin care products.

How much do the treatments cost?
Treatments are very affordable. The average cost is $350 per treatment. During your free consultation, our physician staff will be able to estimate the cost and number of treatments. You will find that our prices are significantly below the fees charged by others in this market. We encourage you to call our competitor and compare our prices with theirs.
Will the various treatments alter my daily activities?
NO! All of our treatments are designed to avoid any burning or downtime. You can expect to return to your normal activities following your treatment.
How to care for the treated area:
- Apply ice if needed after the treatment.
- Wash face with a gentle cleanser twice a day.
- Wash face with cool water - avoid hot water for 48 hours.
- Apply moisturizer after cleansing.
- Do not exfoliate the treated area for 3-4 days following treatment.
- Do not use any Retin-A, Alpha-Hydroxy or Vitamin C products for 24 hours
- Avoid direct sun exposure to the treated area for 1-2 days. Use a sunscreen daily.
- If any blistering occurs, apply antibiotic ointment to the affected area and keep moist.
- Do not tweeze or wax area for 2-3 days.
- Do not take any antibiotics seven days prior to treatment
- Do not actively tan 48 hours prior to treatment
What to expect following a treatment
- Redness normally occurs following a treatment. This will subside within 1-2 hours; in a few cases it may last 1-2 days.
- Blistering rarely occurs but if it does, you will want to keep the area clean and apply a topical antibiotic ointment.
- You may notice the hyper-pigmentation to be darker in appearance after a treatment. Do not become alarmed. It will gradually lighten.
